General

Superannuation funds can be accessed early to help with the costs of extensive medical or dental treatments, and we can help you with the process.

If you or a family member has super funds, we will provide you with the paperwork to detail your dental treatment, the procedures used, and the cost. A SuperCare representative will then guide you through the rest of the process to access the funds you need for your dental care.

When Can Super Funds Be Helpful for Dental Treatment?

Some of the circumstances where you might consider early super access might be:

  • If you lack health funds or they don't cover the treatment you need
  • If you or a family member has superannuation funds available
  • If you don't have the private resources to cover the treatment you need

Our team is also happy to discuss alternative payment options with you if super access is not an option. We also have these sources available:

  • We accept all health funds
  • We offer on-site HICAPS processing for quick payment
  • We work with several third-party companies that provide affordable payment plans

Our team will gladly assist you if you have questions about your treatment plan or payment options.

You Can Learn More about Your Options

The best way to discuss your treatment needs, financial options, and dental sedation choices is to book an evaluation with Dr. Asad. He will help you determine the best options to help you reach your smile goals and restore optimal dental health.

You can arrange a booking online or speak with a friendly team member to schedule your evaluation.

While our primary focus is on Brisbane, we extend our services to various locations to ensure accessibility. In addition to Brisbane, we proudly serve patients in Ipswich, Mt Gravatt, Logan, Gold Coast, Springwood, Browns Plains, Algester, Sunnybank, Holland Park, Pallara, Forest Lake, Crestmead, Robertson, Greenslopes, Annerley, Bayside, and Ipswich.

Depending on the procedures you complete during your treatment, it is expected to feel discomfort for the first few days after your treatment.

Treatment Aftercare Protocols

You can use over-the-counter pain medication as needed, and Dr Asad may also prescribe pain medication for you.

Sticking to soft foods for the first few days after a surgical procedure is also helpful. Here are some ideas:

  • Yoghurt
  • Applesauce
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Smoothies
  • Oatmeal

Be sure to eat your food at room temperature to avoid burning or irritating your extraction site.

You should also avoid drinking through a straw or smoking cigarettes for at least 72 hours after a surgical procedure.

It's also a good idea to avoid heavy activity or vigorous exercise for the first 72 hours after your procedures. Allow yourself plenty of time to rest and heal; some time away from work may be needed.

Sleep dentistry is safe because Dr Asad and his team continually monitor your heart rate and vital signs throughout your entire procedure, whether you choose IV sedation or general anaesthetic (GA).

GA Provides Sleep-Like Sedation

Because GA entails a deeper level of sedation, we enlist the help of a specialist anaesthesiologist who monitors your vital signs and manages the levels of medication used throughout your procedures. GA also requires a slower recovery process, following hospital protocols, but with a same-day discharge.

How IV Sedation Works

Dr Asad delivers IV sedation intravenously so he can monitor the levels of medication we use. IV sedation is done in one of our dental clinics and provides a deeper level of sedation, yet the patient is still responsive.
